Public Transit Openness Index

The Public Transit Openness Index is a central clearinghouse on the data disclosure policies of public transit agencies.

Information kept by a public transit agency on their facilities and schedules is a matter of public record, but disclosure policies vary from helpful to openly hostile. With so many developers interested in building amazing tools for public transit, and with a boom in new transit users interested in using those tools, it is important to spread awareness about the availability of public transit data and encourage all public agencies to make access to their data free and straightforward.

This site is brand new. Some day it'll be fancy. For now, we have a stock MediaWiki.
